SUMMARY:Food for Thought: Interfaith Couples in Conversation - Online - Nevada
DESCRIPTION: \nOne thing we all have in common is our love of food! During this informal discussion\, join Rabbi Cookie Lea Olshein\, an 18Doors Fellow\, to talk about how our memories of days past can inspire us to create new memories with our partners. You might be surprised how the process of cooking (and eating) can bring our families closer together during our December celebrations. \nIn the meantime\, you can peruse 18Doors’ Hanukkah recipes here. \nCo-sponsored by Congregation Ner Tamid’s Interfaith Group\, we will meet on Zoom on Sunday\, December 6\, at 4:30 pm PST.\nIntended for interfaith couples. Zoom info provided after registration. \nRegister \n \n  \nMeet Rabbi Cookie Lea Olshein \nOrdained in 2008\, and after spending four years as a Rabbi in Texas and then eight years as the Rabbi of Temple Israel of West Palm Beach\, Florida\, Rabbi Olshein returning to her beloved Las Vegas Jewish community in July of 2020. A lawyer in Las Vegas for 10+ years before entering rabbinical school\, she was ordained by HUC-JIR (LA). Her professional passions include teaching adult education\, leading congregational Jewish music\, bringing awareness to social justice issues\, creating interfaith opportunities for dialogue and worship and facilitating workshops on spirituality in everyday life. She loves learning with her 18Doors Cohort and is excited to deepen her interfaith work through learning best practices to better serve the community. \n  \n\n18Doors believes our community is enriched by the diversity of its members. We welcome all families\, and invite racially diverse and LGBTQ families to participate in our programming.\n\n\n
